What a strong image this is! The colours on his skin make this look very surreal and strong and his eyes are great too. I wish the image was a bit larger, so more detail could be seen! The only nit I have is that I would have liked the whole hand to be in the photo, even if that would change the shape of the photo and make it more square. It's not always necessary to include whole body-parts, but in this case I think it would work best, at least for me personally. Regards!

Gary, first thank you for your honest and constructive comments, very much appreciated.
This has an enormous amount of charm. An ancient fable come to life. Wonderful mystery here with the perfect use of tones and structure. With most of your shots though, I wish they were posted much larger. Cheers, Darrin

Hi Darrin,
Thank you for the comment on Sabino. This particular polariod transfer seemed different (as they all are) in that the dyes laid down in almost a 3D way. The original image is a 4x5 contact print (made from polaroid type 59 film) ....so you are seeing it almost 1 to 1.

Very effective.. Scary too.. BUT I just love it..
I just wanted to ask about the technique itself, could you plz explain it a bit to me?!.. I've been trying to transfer colored images onto different surfaces, like wood, metal, glass,..etc, with no real success.. Do you have any advice?

WOW! What a powerful portrait, with terrific expression and atmosphere... I just love that polaroid look, and the ragged edge of the transfer. Lighting is terrific, and I personally think the tight composition adds to the dramatic effect.. Brilliant work, Gary... So sad to hear of his passing. What a terrific lasting image to be remembered by.

As a thumb it gave me a rammstein feeling, now it gave me a biblic feeling instead! nice to see an "adam" instead of an eve wich is way to over repsresetented :)

Great Polaroid Transfer. The colors are perfect. Adam and Eve was the first thing I thought of when I saw the image.
It's sad that he died. You've immortalized his image wonderfully.
side note: I've seen this image somewhere before. Did you submit it to Polaroid's 'P' Magazine? I'm racking my brain here...
