Very nice shot, but under exposed,
I like it because of great Tone and surreal view of total work,
The history is really powerful, but just Photos can make it remeber!
Well done to you,
Best wishes,
Mohammad

not a bad one, the exposure is not right

Alexander Dederer   {K:1520} 4/20/2006
Thanks for you comments!

Why you think that exposure is not right?
The arch has not own lighting and was very dark.
Day is very sunny with a light clouds.

All as you can see in this photo.

If I will change exposure (+1, +2) then sky will become a WHITE without any information - it's not good for me.

Have you tried HDR (high dynamic range) imaging? It's a really fantastic method that enables you to capture both a deep shadow detail and a highlight detail. Using a tripod you shoot a couple of different exposure photos (2EV apart) to cover the whole dynamic range of the scene. Then you combine these images with a PS CS, Photomatrix or some other HDR enabled software. Using an advanced tone mapping you then 'collapse' the 32bit/chanel HDR image to 8bit while preserving all of the original detail. The results can be fantastic!
Take a look at:

Have fun!

Domjan, thanks for you comment and links. It's new for me.

About this work. As you know roll film (120) has a more dynamic range than digital camera. And I can extract all information from dark zone. But... As i spoke before: this work must have hight contrast because it's true for realistic vision.

This photo is great the way it is (it wasn't a critique). Just wondered if you know of HDR imaging in case you wanted to pull more shadow detail.
I have descovered this tehnique a few days ago and now am spreading a word :)
