Hi Erik! It took some time before I realized that there is an apple in the bg, too! Clever combination, good work! Congrats on your new lens

Fantastic shot Erik. I really enjoy photographic studies like this. The narrow DOF is used to great advatange here to put some real snap in the detailed plane that's in-focus. Nice indirect light, appears like skylight. Nice crop decision as well; it really focuses the viewer's perspective.

elisa,
thanks for your comment. the aother apple does become a sort of backdrop.
cheers,
erik

Erik Neldner   {K:10896} 4/24/2006
hey thanks so much mark. the apples were in a bowl just over the sink, where there's a window that sticks out into the yard. this is where the light comes from.
cheers,

erik

Great color and use of DOF, Erik....but on my screen there appears to be a cloth texture covering the whole image....quite bizarre. It doesn't appear any where else on UF?

Manu

Erik Neldner   {K:10896} 4/25/2006
manu,

sorry. i didn't mean to trick you. i added a cloth effect in photoshop to give the image this feeling. it's not something i would normally do but i was feeling kind of crazy that day. what do you think of it?

all the best.
