Another excellent macro, Aurobindo.

Lovely colours.Good use of shallow DOF but I'd have liked the front petal to be in focus too.

Thank you D & co.

There I wanted to increase the sharpness in photoshop but I am seeing noise - specially on the violet petal.

You night note there is a white line on the right border of the violet petal. I am not sure what it is, may be some fringing or atifacts of digital image, or just thats how it was.

Anyway, thanks for yoour comments. I am glad that you like this picture

Thanks

Thank you Deb. Gotokal botanical garden'e giyechilam sethan theke tola. Beshirbhag tola N80'te, ekta sugession donot use close up filters. Sharpness hariye jai. Better go for a macro lens or atleast a expention tube. Kal amar prochur bhalo chobi moshto hoyeche close up filter use kore.

Thanks for your comments guru.

Hi Anindya,

Thank you for your comments.

Since I used +4 close up filter very short part was in focus. I appreciate your sugession, but don't you think bringing the front (yellow) petal in focus might distract the attention from the main flower? Infact I think a better way should be to crop the lower part - upto the edge to the 2nd flower in lower right. My idea was to have a shallow DOF surrounding so that the view's eyes also focuses on the flower in middle. But I agree to you - in most of the photo competition judges consider shallow DOF in front elements as a negative aspect. But whats the harm in trying something differrent?

Thanks you for your input and inspiring comments. Looking forward for criticsms and comments - if you agree to my view.

Thanks
Aurobindo

Hello Arabinda,

I was not referring to the isolated front petal but to the front petal of the main flower ,the front edge of which is slightly blurred. A small nit imo.I completely agree with your main comp technique of keeping the central flower sharp and the surrounding ones blurred to direct attention to the central one.Maybe you could have shifted the plane of focus slightly forward to keep the central flower totally sharp while blurring the violet petal.Anyway ,I'm not an expert on macro and the pic is beautiful as it is.

Oh I see, Sorry I understood it wrong. Yes I agree with you. The brown straks in front petal should have been in focus. And your suggession of shifing the plane might have worked. Thanks for the critics Aditya. I appreciate you looked into the picture with eye for details - comments like this will defintely help me to inprove.

Thanks
Aurobindo
