About Thought I'd left the horsies to go for a walk in the woods. This one gave me a right surprise as I pulled back branches! (Luckily, he had to eat bits of trees before my hair!)

Fatemeh Rahimi   {K:13653} 4/23/2006
green in sepia tone, nice one! there is a deep look in the eyes, maybe a question!
well done my dear Mary!

Mary Slade   {K:40918} 4/23/2006
Thanks Fatemeh- I must beware of the deep look in eyes- they may see too much!!

elizabeth Blair   {K:2202} 4/23/2006
Funny how they love your hair!! Beautiful horses..truly they are!! The colours are great...the leaves in the front just give great detail to the pic....again GREAT!!

Mary Slade   {K:40918} 4/23/2006
Thanks Elizabeth- can't resist snapping me horsies! They always give me the giggles. Dave Stacey said it might be the shampoo that causes them to go for my hair!

Trish McCoy   {K:16519} 4/23/2006
this one may have a little to much blur. but the intense look here is really nice.

Mary Slade   {K:40918} 4/23/2006
You're right Trish- it isn't dead sharp. Didn't have time to adjust it right or I would have lost him so close- would have come even closer! So it is "Soft focus"!

aLi Naghizadeh   {K:19457} 4/23/2006

stingRay part 2 .   {K:148553} 4/24/2006
Great selective focusing in this shot my dear Mary, I wonder who was the more surprised? Maybe he was wishing he could've yelled BOO!:):)
Great colour in the season's new leaves and excellent detail in the branch overall. Great idea and well executed witha bold crop finish. All the best.....Ray

Kay McIntire   {K:11787} 4/24/2006
I think he is eyeing your hair again....Ha! Hope you ran faster than he did!

Mary Slade   {K:40918} 4/24/2006
Thanks Ray for mixing with the horsey!- if I see him I get him! You've given me an idea- I'll try and train him to neigh BOO!

Annemette Rosenborg Eriksen   {K:55404} 4/24/2006
Dear Mary
How amusing with your horses! They are like little pets following you around:-) It must be a wonderful place you live having the opportunity to walk in the forest and experiencing the horse following you and maybe your hair:-)))
All the best,
Annemette

Mary Slade   {K:40918} 4/24/2006
Thanks for writing Annemette- it probably isn't as wonderful as it sounds where I live! I just make the best of a few horses up the road! I'm too quick to grab dreams amd lose myself in them! Love your poetic idea of pets following me around!

Rashed Abdulla   {K:154808} 4/25/2006

Czeslaw.

Mary Slade   {K:40918} 4/25/2006
Thanks Czeslav- glad you liked it- I tend to grab lively horses whatever they look like!

Anson Moye   {K:3473} 4/25/2006
I sense a bit of mysterious concealment here that whets my interest to know why the horse is hiding, from whom or what. The branch to me isn't functional but rather symbolic, maybe a veil between animal and man. Sometimes I think the animals here on the farm tolerate our stupidity, unkindness, and other human traits that we human deem bestial. A photograph that stimulates, Mary. Anson

vanessa shakesheff   {K:65070} 4/26/2006
Love the title you daft thing ha ha..i would have jumped too ..nessa

Mary Slade   {K:40918} 4/26/2006
Thanks Nessa....I like being daft- gives me a laugh!!

Mary Slade   {K:40918} 4/26/2006
Thanks for looking and writing Anson- much appreciated. Not being a photographer, it is things like you say that grab me to play with- (or indeed write poems about!). Really like the idea of the branch being symbolic as if a veil. Wonderful image.

Riny Koopman   {K:61155} 4/27/2006

Thanks Jose- appreciate your support as always!

Mary Brown   {K:68582} 5/7/2006
This is an unusual composition, but very effective. She looks decorated by the leaves and somehow appears to be like a mystical horse from a fanciful story. I really like this.
MAry

Mary Slade   {K:40918} 5/7/2006
Thanks Mary for looking and writing. Glad you liked the horse- I see what you mean- it is a bit like it's from a childrens story or myth!

Michele Carlsen   {K:140604} 8/21/2006
Great image Mary ! I like that you and your pets are sooo close. Your horse is simply like a big dog... isn't he/she ? I love horses, all animals... I also like the tie between your images and the titles you give them... they tell a complete story in this way.
this is a wonderful story.
ThankYou for sharing .
Michele~

Mary Slade   {K:40918} 8/21/2006
