Joggie, the converter seems not to detract from the fine optics of the 105 macro. I find this amazing! I am waiting for mine, as I have located one. I assume that it is not likely to work with my 105mm because this is a G series AFS, but should work well with my 60mm AF, D series as it works on your 105mm AF, D. However, I could double my magnification on my 105mm by getting the recommended teleconverter TC 20EII. (20x of the cost of the Panagor!) BTW, I use my 80-400 VR lens with a Canon 500D closeup lens for much the same macro/telephoto effect as in your rose! The rose is perfect as a rose should be! Well done, Joggie!

Thanks for the great comment Eb. The converter you located - is it a macro converter or a normal teleconverter! There is a difference - the Panagor has a zoom ring with which you can change the reporduction ratio from 1:10 to 1:1 if fixed to a normal 50mm Nikon lens. I have tried a 2x and 1.7x teleconverter on the 105mm Nikkor micro and it dont fit because of the almost protruding back lens element of the 105mm Nikkor.
If it is a macro converter - please send me the details, my brother is desperately trying to locate one! Thanks.

Joggie, your brother can check out Ffordes, a UK web dealer. They have several Panagor Macro Converters in new condition at 25 pounds each. Search under used equipment, Nikon, M/F Flashes/Drives/Finders, or e-mail at info@ffordes.com. There are also a lot of macro tele-converters by Vivitar, supposedly a better product, available at Kerrisdale Cameras in Vancouver - also on the web.

I have just taken a quick test shot with the Vivitar flash - Taken at 1/5000th sec, f5.6 and ISO 200. All with manual setting, low res image attached. Take care.
