Very well composed shot. The colors look great though it seems to be a cloudy sky with no direct sunlight. The different fences on different angles and distances really help bring depth in this picture, also do the two men in the foreground. Typically dutch image, farmers with their wooden shoes and a simple hat, and in the background the mills...:) Well done. Did the two actually stand there, or did you ask them (or even bring them...)??

Hi Hermen, Always a pleasure to see another one of your photos. It can't get more Dutch than this - timeless and (despite the geographical mismatch) a "schippers van de Kameleon" feel... A classic image, and well composed. The path creates a nice leading line from lower left to right middle, and back to the horizon on the left, including all aspects of this scene.
There's something odd about this photo, though. Not sure what it is. The best I can come up with is the asphalt, where one would expect a dirt path. Nothing to be done about that, of course.
I like the two guys in the foreground, they create a very strong eye catcher, and even though they absorb most of th attention, there's enough space around them for the viewer to admire the other parts. Very good shot...
Cheers,
hugo

Hi Marco,
thanks for your comment. This was a backlit shot, I had to do some PS work to lighten the figures in the foreground. The two did actually stand there; at Kinderdijk, there is one mill that has been thrown open to the public, and they belonged to the staff :)
