I see that you suffer from the same "white skies" as we do in Japan. At this time of the year (April-May) we get some blue skies, and again in the autumn, but mostly it's either white or a pale, pollution-induced pink. These fishing boats make a nice series, Bobot! I am enjoying them all.

Ooops! Manu, not Bobot! Sorry about that!

Excellent capture of the colour and details, Manu!

Hi Manu,

I've just read you reply to Mark, and I think it touches on one of the best things in photography: the combination between a personal style and subjective opinions. There's no right or wrong here.

I think the somewhat washed out tones match with the faded look of the well used fishing boats. On the subjective level, I have to agree with Mark, but I see your point too.

I do think the contrasts and details in the darker parts of the hull is a bit low, showing more of the structure, lines in those parts would've, IMO pushed up the impact, and might even compensate for the brighter top half (2/3rds) of the photo.

the consistency in this series is again one of the strenght, not only because of the similarities between the subjects (too obvious), but also in the toning. Very proficient and strong series - no surprises there.

Cheers,

Hugo

PS: Did you receive my email?

Again an eye-catching photo-art!! Extraordinary colours and nice brightness and lovely shadow I see here! Wonderful job you’ve done to produce this illustration! Terrific!
Best regards: Maxime
