Ashley, this is an amazing close up- something different about it. It has a feel to it. The colours and clarity seem so real. Is it a magnolia? Mehul's idea of "waiting" fits the feeling ideally to me.

This sure does look like a magnolia bud Ashley. I love the detail that you have captured and the soft delicate colours in the outer petals that will soon burst open (looking at the date, they probably have by now). I took some similar shots of our magnolia buds but I didn't like mine. Well done to you Ashley, a lovely composition with a perfect dof. Best wishes....Ray

Great job capturing the texture of this bud! Love the shallow dof(I'm a sucker for minimal dof) and the soft color is beautiful. Very nice!
