About Casio! What the heck am I doing with a Casio EX-S500??? Well, the inevitable finally happened, my trusty Sony DSC-U20 appears to be on it's last legs. After almost three years and 10,000 pictures I guess it doesn't owe me anything. And it was my best flower shooter too (perhaps because it's (was) *always* with me). It's just that half the time when I go to take a picture the LCD is dark with flashing lines :-) So I need a replacement. The main requirement is that it fit in my pocket comfortably so small size was a major consideration (well, it had to take pictures too :-). After a lot of searching (looked at the Canon SD450, theSony T9 and a Pentax that I don't remember the model), the Casio turned out to be the smallest camera I could find.

So here's a picture from my first run in the garden with the new camera. It was late in the afternoon and the long light really helped. It's still fairly cool up here but this Monsella Tulip had just bloomed and there I was with my new camera :-). I think that it may be able to take up where the U20 left off.

Very nice Jim!
It seems you are going to get some good results from your new compact camera.
I like the style you have in your latest florals of mostly presenting them with a darker back ground. I've always thought it better that way for the blooms to stand out nicely.
