About Waterford glass paper weight on window. In middle, 70yr old piccy of my grandparents and Aunt (the baby there) from Waterford (as my Dad). All gone now. My Aunt died at 33. Images faded behind glass- so close but can never touch again. Added clock figures for time and simple words- both endlessly circular. Past, present, future- one and the same if we're lucky!

Leave reality or dreams

Leave us fall

Time never leaves

Leaving misty mountains

Leaves us wild

Leaving the lab.

Notes of Freedom

Silence never leaves

Leaves Dust

Leave our Mark

The central figures are so sharp and the expression are very well seen. I also like the added clock marks. Of course the BW presentation fits well with the nostalgic nature of the image. Very Nice Mary.

Thanks so much Luis- really appreciate your encouraging and thoughtful comments.

Klaas  Baas   {K:15115} 4/30/2006
Very creative work here Mary, sorry to read that your aunt died so very young. Good details and great choise for B&W. The clock and the idea of past, present and future goes perfectly with the classical looking image of your grandparents and aunt.
Take care,

Klaas

Annemette Rosenborg Eriksen   {K:55404} 4/30/2006
Dear Mary
A sentimental image with lots of longing, sorrow and hope all at once. If we have a link to the past, are able to live in the present and dare to look forward to the future, we really are fortunate.:-)
All the best,
Annemette

Nice work!!

Ciprian Ilie   {K:13215} 5/1/2006
Very well taken, great detail shown to say it's glass, normally you get reflections all over the show.

I like the way you embedded the text in your photograph, it looks like it's always been part of it.

Regards,
Ciprian

Beautiful beautiful words from you and a very poignant 'about'. We follow those who leave their mark and in turn we follow suit for those who follow close behind.
Your postwork, as usual sweetie, is first class and I am in awe of your techniques. My very best wishes to you as always (and thank-you for your response regarding Ireland) Ray

Mary Slade   {K:40918} 5/1/2006
Thanks Ciprian for looking and writing- much appreciated. I'm more of a "maker upper" than photographer, so I'd forgotten about reflections on glass! I was lucky there. P.S. Hope you get in the press!

Dear Mary! As you know very well our life is full of surprise, both in negative and positive means! Some memories has became part of our soul, we never forget them, cannot forget them or don’t want to forget! Fortunately we human-beings are very strong in sprit! It is really fascinating how we survive and keep brawny our hope even though we are surrounded by many unbelievable troubles! I know how individually your feelings are! I appreciate sharing your sentiments and feelings!
Best wishes: Maxime
