This is really pretty Laura.
Too bad you couldn't position with something darker behind the blossom, so you wouldn't be fighting the high contrast lighting and tough exposure range.

What a great idea Laura . . . I have a bottle brush tree in my back yard and never even thought of capturing it! You've done it justice here and I like the high contrast from the light background. The green and red really work well together here. Impressive work.
