About My wife, Maureen, who teaches in the is Professor of Theatre at Western Washington University.
There are two reasons for the treatment shown (threshold adjustment and fill color). The original was blurry enough as to not lend itself well to fixing in any reasonable way post processing. So, I wanted to show that photos that might otherwise seem a loss can be salvaged in a non-traditional way. Also, I like to use threshold sometimes because it can extract emotion and expression from a photo while eliminating other parts of the picture that do not pertain to emotion or expression.

A good explanation of the treatment and effect, Steve! It make a rather interesting portrait! The big question is does your wife like it?

Just brilliant idea and outcome. You certainly did show that apparently lost photos can be salvaged! I always find that fasinating- and how an apparent slight difference really makes a major difference!

J'aime bien ces traitements moi aussi qu'on fait subir ŕ certaines photos et qui les rendent...graphiques...modernes. Trčs beau hight contrast.
Merci, drilan
