About During holy week and especially on good fridays, different rituals are going on all through out the country. Flagellation is one of them where in they whip and scourge themselves as a sacrifice and offerings. They walk the streets while being flagellated either by themselves or someone else. Its a bloody scene which I will post next time.
Here, in this photo, is the end of the ritual, they have already bathe their bloody back and doing some prayers by the lake where they will bathe themselves again after.

I have seen scenes of flagellation on TV. People really get in deep, don't they? Thanks for sharing this with us in your photos.

The flagellation to remember the Jesus Christ's via crucis two thousand years ago... Very interesting "about", for a good journalism shot...

The colors and the arrangement of the boats (bancas) and the calm waters nicely contrasted against the the brutal main subject of the photo.

Hi Bobot.....a very real instance where beliefs are tested to extremes. A fascinating insight to this ritual my friend. What religion do they follow?
Wonderful depth to this great piece of journalistic photography and thoughtfully composed as well. Great piece of work Bobot. My very best wishes to you as always.....Ray

Astonishing dear! Lovely to see a picture that learn much at the same time. Thanks for sharing the image and the information. Although I don’t believe that this ceremony should be the same Ceremony Fatemeh heard about, I have any way the same enquiry. Would you please give more details or perhaps through some others pictures and illustrations.
Best regards: Maxime
