Mohammad Porooshani   {K:20705} 5/9/2006
Good work Fatemeh,
I like the way you explain your thoughts to others such as this thirsty you show here,
Lighting is very good (it's OK if you did it in PS), I think the point is you did what you want, anyhow in PS or while taking the shot, that's good for me, trying to reach our dreams!
wish you Luck Fatemeh!
MY bests to you,
Mohammad

Omnia Mamdouh   {K:5107} 5/9/2006

Wonderfull still life and contrasty colours! Very nice work!

Mary Slade   {K:40918} 5/9/2006
Just brilliant Fatemeh! Love the B&W and bright red. I see thirsty for dreams- and you got them well contained- shadows or not!

Laura Spell   {K:24080} 5/9/2006
Simple, yet effective still life. The colors and details are very good. The low water level in the bottle shows that the rose was indeed thirsty.

Paolo Corradini   {K:58214} 5/9/2006
wow great light and composition..it seems an image for magazine. excellent

A nice shot and i like the level of saturation u used.
i think if there were not any drops on the bottle it makes me feel a deeper thirst!

Oh dear! You are always good for a nice surprise. I never could guess what your next picture should be. A thoughtful definition dear for a gorgeous image with lovely shadow and pleasant view! Rose! The worldwide symbol of affection is thirsty! Wow! I’ve seen plenty of beautiful roses, macro-roses, roses in a greenhouse, roses in a flowerpot or in a vase, a bouquet of roses, a rose-garden, roses in florist’s shop and roses in different perspective outlines, inside, surface…, but I’ve never seen a thirsty one. Thoughtful! Water has been always a source of our surviving not only for us human-beings, but also for all living creations. What a marvellous method you’ve chosen to compose and describe your felling and thought in this illustration. You have an inspired mind, unusual talent and can create something normally we don’t perceive or at least I’m not able to notice. To me this is your most thoughtful symbolic presentation in UF. A masterpiece art if truth be told! Exciting to hear what our friends would say.
My best complement: Maxime

m ,   {K:15872} 5/9/2006
Dear Fatemeh
I have been faithful to all your pictures since I’ve known you. I have to travel by water during this week. I’m already exciting what would be your next presentations when after a while I could get a chance to visit UF.
Best wishes: Maxime

Eb Mueller   {K:23797} 5/9/2006
Well done, Fatemeh! The water is indeed very wet; the angle and lighting is creative indeed; and your shadow vignette is effective and well done! The elements are all excellently put together for an artful photo.

thanks for your nice comment! i agree with you, it'd be better without those drops of water, but drying the bottle was too difficult for me! ;)!
but i could find somehtig: totally by accident there is a drop under the stem. i interpret it as the desire of the Rose to move toward it! anyway i'm so thankful for your attention!

roberto canepa   {K:7373} 5/10/2006
i think we all are thirsty of beauty and fullness of life... and - like the rose - we don't reach the Water... it's right that the rose is not suffering for this...
very good shot and very good processing!
ciao Fatemeh

m ,   {K:15872} 5/11/2006
Dear Fatemeh
I see your “thirsty” and “Vain effort” have a familiar purpose! You did score so closely but counting it as a “Vain Effort”, then your Rose is thirsty in bottle of water. Thoughtful! I hope I am not much wrong!
Best regards: Maxime

Vain Effort

1301307 60   {K:43692} 5/11/2006
I see the stem of the flower is short and not long enough to reach the water, poor flower. Its not too late, the flower is still fresh and has its fragrance and beauty intact. Perhaps, replacing the vase or adding more water would solve this thirst problem. I feel a very strong yearning in this photo, looks like this flower has been deprived of alot of its basic needs such as water.
A very clever concept to interpret ones thought and sentiments. not so much on the photographic technique but more on the substance and soul of the image...
well done Fatemeh...

Riny Koopman   {K:77652} 5/11/2006
Gongratulations DEAR Maxime to see you on the frontpage...Riny

stingRay part 2 .   {K:238240} 5/11/2006
A truely wonderful creative idea my dear Fatemeh and an excellent shooting angle to compose this beautiful floral study. The colour tones to the rose are gorgeous and the mono toned effect to the bottle and background are superb.
Sorry I am late in commenting....my work takes a slice out of my week and I fall behind. Well done to you my dear. My very best wishes to you as always......Ray

Danny Brannigan   {K:17428} 5/11/2006

Chaman Sina   {K:722} 5/12/2006
Very interesting idea dear sister. A powerful image with wonderful colors and nice shadow. It is actually a thoughtful and symbolic picture as usually. I see honestly from the beginning some symbolic common connection between this and your “Vain Effort”! it was a clever idea posting Vain Effort here too!
Chaman

Chaman Sina   {K:722} 5/17/2006
I see by a sudden in Sharghonline (an Iranian Newspaper) the following photo. I would like to know if your name is Nelli Mahboob, if yes, then why you have another name here. If not then why you name was not mentioned as photographer? Are you journalist and work with the Shargh Newspaper? Sorry sister I am asking. I was surprised to see your picture there without your name!
Chaman

Fatemeh Rahimi   {K:13523} 5/17/2006
dear Chaman!
i'm just wondering how could you find it! :)
i'm not Nelli Mahboob and i don't have any other names. i saw it in Shargh on the 3rd of April 06, without my name mentioned and wrote a letter to them asking for correction but unfortunately they didn't even reply my letter! there is not any rules about copy right in here, so unfortunately they do whatever they want!
that was the story, anyway thanks for your attention dear!

Fatemeh Rahimi   {K:13523} 5/17/2006
dear Kamran!
thanks for your nice comment!

Chaman Sina   {K:722} 5/17/2006
As you know I am from Afghanistan and speak farsi. I am crazy for literature. Thorough Google I got the following address: http://www.onlinenewspapers.com/iran.htm
Then I saw an interesting name ”Shargh”. When I was checking the site of literature in Shargh’s archive, I saw a known picture in this address http://www.sharghnewspaper.com/850114/html/litera.htm
I thought it was yours. I came back to UF and saw it was true. I am very sorry sister; I thought it was a fake picture. I became first very angry at you. Thanks for your quick answer.
I am so sorry and disappointed that “Shargh newspaper used your picture without mentioned your name. It is shameful. In UF is clearly that you have the copyright. I wish I could help. If it is anything, let me please to know.
Chaman

Monika R   {K:258} 5/17/2006

Adam

Adam Den   {K:798} 5/20/2006
Curiously I visited the address Chaman mentioned. Ok, I cannot understand anything except I can see you picture is there. My friendly advice is you have to be very pride and satisfy they chose and published your picture. It shows you creation is very worthy! I understand Copyright, but at the moment is more than anything just important that Iranian broadcast get interest and recognize your works. It is of course just my opinion dear.
Adam

Fatemeh Rahimi   {K:13523} 5/20/2006
Dear Riny! I see Maxime could not answer you before his sailing. So I do it. Riny be sure that he and many other and of course I miss you pictures. I really wish you could finish you Amsterdam-series. Wish really see you back soon!
Best luck to you: Fatemeh

Fatemeh Rahimi   {K:13523} 5/20/2006
Thanks a lot Chaman for your attention. I understand your point and doubt. It was a normal reaction of course. I love art and not looking for a name. So it is nice they did like my picture, I suppose. I don’t really care they did not mention my name. I wrote an e-mail and show my appreciation for publishing my picture.

Riny Koopman   {K:77652} 5/20/2006
Dear Fatemeh. As you know I dont post photographs since a few weeks on usefilm. This is because I bought a chalet this needs a lot of work, like new electricity,This will take a few mounts.I promise to came back as possible on the photo side!

Ps Please take a look by Meldijana Onerbergovic portofolio,Have a great weekend dear friend,Riny

Fatemeh Rahimi   {K:13523} 5/20/2006
Thanks a lot for your nice regard Monika

Fatemeh Rahimi   {K:13523} 5/20/2006
Hi Monika! It is of course copyright also in Iran. I have to correct my last quickly reaction. You know dear, it is really not easy to check and control all broadcasts in a big country like Iran. I really don’t care they did not mention my name. It is important that they saw my picture attractive. Don’t you think so?

Fatemeh Rahimi   {K:13523} 5/20/2006
It is really nice to hear you dear Riny! Of course I understand. At the moment I don’t either have much time creating a new picture.
Apropos your advice about Meldijana Onerbergovic. I do right away!
Thank a lot for your regards: Fatemeh
