About Blue building. Arts District, Kansas City, Missouri, USA.
________________________________

OK, now that there is a DiD on this I have to give you the full story.

I got an e-mail yesterday and talked on the phone with a gallery owner in Kansas City. I loaded my car up with some framed pieces and headed out there - but I had an hour to kill, so I walked around taking some composed shots of the buildings in the arts district. This was one. After that, we met, and this morning I was offered my first gallery showing in August.
___________________________

This first showing will be a huge step to me and it is mostly because of usefilm. The people I have met and the great feedback has kept me coming back. I proudly put my donorship to usefilm in my artist biography.

Thanks y'all - it takes a community to make an artist. And raise a barn. (Where else ya gonna put all that art?)

Wow, great story Micheal. I can agree with you completely as I just placed some artwork for the first time in a restaurant in Philly. I really like the stuff you have posted here on UF and the work is well done. Congrats,

cheers, -mm

It was only a matter of time before the gallery showing :))). As for usefilm, I ask you to consider your own contributions to the community... I, for one, have always found your tutorials very helpful, and the stories behind your shots to be entertaining as well as extremely informative. Your photos are exemplary and speak to the creativity of the digital medium (and how "entry-level" tools are more than serviceable as powerful fine art weapons). Please consider me a humble disciple of your ongoing artistic progression. All the best, and congratulations!

Now saving for a Micro Nikkor 105. (Slobber) I too enjoy macro photography and I use a 1965 Nikon MF 2X 50 mm with a 2X extender.

It takes far more than a community to make an artist, Michael, but in your case I see the work of somebody that really has the artistic eye!

Wonderful!
