Andre,

Wonderful choice regarding the DOF. I love the shadows, contrast, frame, cropping, textures and grains.

Well done indeed my friend,

Martin

I can't imagine it is enjoying it's retirement.

Great shot, good symmetry, excellent focal point.

Andre, the one has seen better times as well I'm sure but now is only a wreck. Cool that the guy is still in kind of symbiosis with nature. Well taken scene, pretty tonnality and solid composition, all well presented. Cheers, n.j

Hi Ryan,
I suppose if cars had feelings, it would much rather be restored and driving around on club runs to the local burger joints.
Thanks for the visit and comment!

Hi Andrzej,
I noticed that too about these cars that have been left for a while. The way some parts look almost like they came off the factory floor, while other areas of the car have been completely reclaimed by nature.
One of the good things about the vehicles in this series is that they have been vanal free since they have been left here. This is not usually the case with old cars.

What a shot Andre. I bet this old car could tell some stories! ) Shots like this always make me wonder what happened during it's life. Good post, nice exposure!

Hi Susie,
No air-bags! No seat-belts, No child-seats! No cup holders! Second hand smoke, filling the interior!
How did we all survive?

Hi Andre,

This series of vintage cars in their last stages of the product life cycle facinate me. As I've discussed before, I'm still not convinced the b&W toning is the most powerful solution, but having said that, I understand your reasoning very well, and the tonal range in the conversion is very well done. The bottom line here is, that that decision is solely yours, and it's a perfectly good decision - but a subjective one.

I like this change of angle too, it shows the remainders of the streamline design very well. It's a rather sad sight actually. IMO, they don't make cars like they used to, with the new technology and improved materials, the design might have become more efficient, but also less durable.... Excellent series,

Cheers,

Hugo

Thanks Hugo,
I appreciate your in depth comments! I do have a nice colour version of this one too. Quite often, in the past I have posted both versions. Although my preference is in B&W, I am torn between the two sometimes. With my yellow school bus image, colour was a no brainer. Some choices are not so obvious :)
I also have always thought that there is an element of sadness attached to this type of image. It can be nostalgic, but sometimes it is more sadness or melancholy.
Andre
