Fantastic, Phil. I think I like this one better than the colour version. Excellent tones, and that lion in the background really blows me away. He adds so much to the picture. Just a thought,but perhaps this would fit better in the "minimal dof" project...read about that project and then read the one you chose...BIPs are given out when the image fits the description of the project...cheers,gayle

The only thing is, wouldn't it be too late to enter it into another project? If I changed it, it would not come up at the top in that project - it would be way down the pages because of all the others entered in the days since this one was uploaded.
Do you think the judges would be aware if I went ahead and did this, or, should I upload it again into the the project you recommend?

Gayle, I made the decision and changed it to Minimum DOF.
I was never too happy with it being in the 'Friendship' project. So, your comments just reaffirmed it in my mind that it was not in the most suitable one!

whoa! you have really given a lot of thought to this,Phil..LOL..i never even thought about a line up and not sure it matters since moderators/staff all have their own ways of viewing and choosing images for various awards...but i do think the minimal dof suits image more so than friendship,but then that is just how i interpret those categories...do what you feel more comfortable with as the awards are purely subjective choices by people with varied taste ;>

I love this in B/W! The back lion has a haunting look now that the color contrast is removed.
wonderful image to work with for this! The *crisp* detail on the fg lion is amazing, and the whites that were once blown out, now rest perfectly with the other tones in the image.
