About In 4 days I got at least 500 shoots of 5 white tailed kites. So far this one is one of the best that I managed to get.
I wanted to get an eye level- on extended wings image of one of my favorite falcons and I am happy with this one.
Now is time to give a break to my legs... but it won't be for too long.
I hope you guys appreciate this pic.

Holy Cow! Or Hawk! Very nice capture Yamil! Didn't realize you're based here in the Bay Area also!
I need a tip from you - should I drop my 80-400mm and get a 300mm with converter? One of the UF gurus - Marcus Armani - has an excellent gallery as well.

Hello Andre,
Thank you for visiting my portfolio and for your comment on this image.
Yes, you are absolutely right. Marcus has been very influential in my work. I am not the first one that benefits from his expertise and I won't be the last one.
Best wishes.

Hi Yamil,

Regardless of our previous discussion, which makes my overall impression already pretty clear, I do like this photo. Very good level of details, and a very good catch.

I think the tones are a bit subdued; increasing the contrast would already make a huge difference, and would make the kite stand out stronger.

The blue in the sky is another thing; it creates the feel you shot this using Auto WB; If you shot this in Raw, you could tweak the colour temperature a bit, to make it look less magenta. That's also a thing of Usefilm, I believe, though; when uploading and converting a photo, the tone, saturation and contrast seem to be altered slightly by the sites' image conversion engine.

Cheers,

Hugo

PS: I wanted to go out today to shoot me some flying birds, but due to car problems, I have to postpone a bit. It might take another week or so till I have time...
