I like your concept. What really draws me to this image is your shadow which is shaped like a diver leaving for the water. Also, you do something so many photographers don't do when they shoot themselves while holding their own cameras: you show your face.
The cropped version you put up for Gayle seems out of balance. I prefer the original post.
