About Taking a tip from a UF member that it is better to shoot some of these mesa's in low, long light, I set out to capture south-facing mesas sidelit by a setting sun.

Here, the outcroppings of the southern face stand out from the shadowed walls.

The setting sunlight really brought out the spirit of the formation

An amazing capture, Dave! Fabulous colours, lighting and comp! If the bushes at the base are trees, these must be very high? Well captured!

Cheers

Hi Dave,
I like the way the lighting brings out the colour and nicely composed.

The light and texture is excellent dave - great abstract, wonderful scene. The frame is competing for attention though. Great image nonetheless.

Thanks, Joggie. I am still frame-challenged but I have registered for the fall classes at the Lori Stitt College of Frame Making.

Sad to say I flunked out of the Rina School for color coordination.

What I thought this would do is bring out the shadowed area a little bit. Ooops.

Best wishes,
Dave
