About These towers were visible from the Universal Studio gates but were off the property and belonged to an unknown business . . . Very tall, I opted to crop off the trees and hills they seemed to erupt from to isolate them and draw attention to them. For a change, the cloudless sky seemed to help the abstract composition. Doyle, a very powerful and great abstract image. I love this one.

Kelly Duntley   {K:13055} 6/24/2006
A very interesting composition with varing shapes of different sizes. That is the reason I belive this works so well. The dark, oversaturated, blue background is a great choice for this peice of work. A great eye on your part.
Kelly

Susie OConnor   {K:34798} 6/24/2006
Very different Doyle...well seen by you. An architectural abstract for sure.
Susie

Nicely done, the blue background brings out the dark towers, well done.

vanessa shakesheff   {K:62845} 6/24/2006
Great one for the abstracts ..lovely patterns against the lovely blue..nessa

Mary Slade   {K:40918} 6/24/2006
That blue sky is amazing Doyle. Far more powerful to have just the sky and the towers. So strong and intriguing.

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:99493} 6/24/2006
Thanks Kelly . . . that's more or less what I saw! The interest comes, IMO, from cropping out the familiar. Incredibly . . . the BG is NOT really oversaturated . . . I simply adjusted levels in PS (white balance) to pull the tonal range and contrast! It worked wonderfully . . . and, thereafter, clearly didn't need increased saturation (although I WOULD have done it if it was needed! LoL!) I totally appreciate seeing your comments.

Thanks Susie . . . To this day I wonder what the heck the round tower is used for! LoL! I guess you don't need all the answers to shoot it though!

No thank you for your support, and thinking of us down here. I know we have gotten a lot of bad press in the pass few months, but there are a lot of good folks that have suffered a great deal and some that may not recover, there have been several that took their lives because they can't deal with it. We are coming back but it is very slow going, lots of contractors taking advantage of people, crime, and still looting in places. It is a bad situation. Thanks for your thoughts and concerns.

Annemette Rosenborg Eriksen   {K:55371} 6/24/2006
Dear Doyle
So different towers all at one place! How great if you had the opportunity to climb them, and then Marlyce could take a shot of you just like the one where you“re bravely fighting the waves to protect the innocense of your camera;-)
Best wishes,
Annemette

Juan Gonzalo Marcano Prieto   {K:14224} 6/25/2006
bellos tonos, muy bueno el degrade de azul que se puede ver desde la parte superior izquierda a la parte inferior derecha, me gusta, excelente

This has got to be the most powerful rich blue sky I have ever seen Doyle.....it is so intense you must have maxed out with the polariser:):) A great dramatic look at these anonymous towers. I particularly love the almost never ending spiraling steps to the main tower....awesome. Well done to you my friend....All the best...Ray

Kenneth:
Hold the fort buddy . . . overall . . . although it may not seem like it at times . . . people are basically good at heart. Gandhi once said, "Whenever I dispair, I remember that good has ALWAYS triumphed over evil." It may not seem like it at times, but in the end . . . it's the truth.

Annemette:

I'm not climbing a tower just so Marlyce can get a good photo while my shaking hands try to get one of my own! Behave!

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:99493} 6/26/2006
Thanks Juan! The sky here is really the natural sky . . . I isolated it and adjusted the white balance, contrast and brightness . . . northing more.

Doyle I <~~~~~

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:99493} 6/26/2006
Thanks Ray! In an amazing twist of fate I used NO filter this time . . . though usually I would have considered the Spherical Poloroid and UV filters. All I did (honestly) was to isolate the sky and adjust the levels (contrast / brightness) of the real sky. Nothing more.
