This is just beautiful. What is a macro converter? Do you mean an extension tube? Did you run it through a noise filter? If not, this D200 puts my D2X to shame! Super, Super job!

Now this is a close up---a very lovely, beautifully detailed close up. Super.

Thanks for commenting, Sarah. I do not use any noise suppression on the camera but in post processing, I have touched this one up with Neat Image. I find that a well exposed image at ISO 1600 is quite acceptable, even without a noise filter. From what I have read, the D2X should be a little better still.

Sarah, I forgot to explain the macro-converter - it is like a teleconverter but designed to turn a standard lens into a macro at 1:1 ratio. Of course, fitted with a macro lens one can get 3:1 or slightly better. The converter fits on the camera body and the lens is attached to that. Automatic functions are lost.

Excellent work and beautifuk composition Eb.
I think Sarah is right: I never work over 400 ISO with my D2X. D200 is surely better for noise (but not only?).
Ciao.

Giuseppe

Good focus on the drop here, Eb! I like the colours, too!
Dave.
