About Back home, I must stop processing my Hong Kong images, and go for a walk around the neighborhood with my camera.

This is 'Dark Park' in downtown Larkspur. The gigantic redwood trees grow right in the middle of the street.

This was taken just past sunset, and the lights of the park add a day-for-night look to the surrounding redwoods.

Oh, Joel, I uploaded my photo and went into the kitchen to do the vegetables for dinner! (It's 5.08pm, Saturday evening) Consequently, I did not see the uploads after mine.

Mate, this is a great shot. Wonderful lines, shapes, textures and DOF!

Take care, and have a great weekend!

Cheers

Phil

That is truly one of the most challenging tasks, Joel - to look for a shot among the daily seen.

Having just returned from Seattle (a target-rich environment), it's always refreshing to seek out equally compelling images in my own familiar neighborhood.

Great rule-of-thirds framing of the pole, and I love how you had the shadow falling into the corner. The letters are so hammered that I found myself studying them for some time.

Welcome "back" Joel. A trip like you had is like finishing a good book then not knowing what to do and how it will compare. I'm sure that you will find a way to get your feet back on the ground. Trees does it for me too. For that matter anything from nature works. Regards Ron.
