Definitely worth getting this image- not what you'd have everyday Doyle! Actually, he has got my gloves on, but I don't look like the rest of him!

Rina     {K:27299} 6/27/2006
Well done taking the zoom with you! Can't tell how far back you were, but you snagged excellent dof. Way to go Doyle.

Went to Universal in '02, but didn't have my dSLR back then. Had a few trusty disposables though! Yay...

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:100828} 6/27/2006
Dear Lord I certainly HOPE you don't look like the rest of him Mary! . . . Oh, wait! We know what you look like now! Not even close! :)

Thanks Rina . . . there've been SOME changes since '02 (I'm told) but this was my first time there and I've lived here for over a decade. Fun stuff! . . . and thanks for the comments!

Thanks Nessa! He certainly made a good bad guy for the show and did, indeed, look scary (and I don't scare easily)!

stingRay part 2 .   {K:239164} 6/27/2006
I remember this film as well and I thought it a lot better than the panning the critics gave it. A wonderful colourful shot pin sharp and dramatic. Well done to you my good friend. Very best wishes.....Ray

excellent.great shot.

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:100828} 6/27/2006
Thanks Ray . . . an interesting movie, true, but largely criticized because of the huge expense in making it for what turned out to be lackluster returns. I have a friend who was in the movie (extra - Burners on the tanker) and that always makes it a bit more interesting to me.

Best Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Gosh, I usually take notice when Hopper plays a part but I don't remember him being in Waterworld. Of course, I found it to be a forgettable movie. Cool shot, looks like you were right on the set since this actor sure does re-capture the spirit of the film.

And you should be ashamed of poking fun at my frame, brother. You know I am frame-challenged. It's not nice making fund of a handigipper. LOL

Best wishes,
Dave

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:100828} 6/30/2006
Dave . . . (*sigh*) . . . I'm deeply filled with remorse and grief for my comments to the frame challenged. I'll probably be unable to sleep a wink . . . tossing and turning in a fruitless effort to escape the surly bonds of consciousness which fill me with grave forebodings about the karmic debt I have invariably lifted, mantle-like, to my weary shoulders. Or I can drink a beer, eat pizza and sleep like a baby! I haven't decided yet; I'll choose later.
---And Dennis Hopper rarely makes bad movies...this was more of an issue because of the huge cost of production and low rate of return. Bad Press. Bad turn-out. Oh yeah . . . and a lot of people thought it was bad too. . . . those things all tend to hurt! LoL! :P

Doyle I <~~~~~

Personally, my twin brother, I'd go for the pizza and beer route There just seems to be an endless parade of people here who feel the need to chastise a guy who is blind in one eye and can't see out of the other, is stuck in a motorized wheelchair and when I can stand, lean to one side, making my horizons totally tilted.

But that's okay, I am a good sport and take it on the chin, though I was born with a cleft lip and soft chin bone that is susceptible to injury even at the slightest touch. But please, don't feel bad for me.

As for the movie, I am really surprised that they would consider it such a center piece that they would still have a skit at the park about it. I'm more of a "geeze, this was a flop, lets forget it ever happened" kind of guy.
