About Newport, Rhode Island - Easton's (1st) Beach

1/320th - f/6 - iso100 - 70mm

Was taking long shots of surfers in the water when I noticed these two walking out, and zoomed to 70mm to catch them getting in the water, with the land inbetween 1st and 2nd beach in the background. Also, way in the distance above the orange surfboard you can see the Sakonnet Pt. lighthouse.

I keep seeing this image pop up and have been meaning to comment. Composition is excellent as well as the movement of the waves. But I'm curious to know what time of day you took this?

Chris Hunter   {K:25631} 6/30/2006
Hi Carlen thansk. This was taken late in the day, just before the sun started to set.

The lighting is overall original to the scene, I did some slight color balancing to remove a little bit from the red/orange side of the image, but enough to retain the warm feeling.

Thanks again for the comment; also I'm happy because this image was recently published as a half page photo in a local magazine, as well as being purcahsed by the Newport County Tourism board for various uses.

The beautiful life in Newport. Well done Chris and inspired me to go for a ride down there. It's been a while.
