I like the monochromatic tones you have here.

after looking at the image for a while i find nothing to criticize...in fact i like it very much...i love the wonderful moody atmosphere created by the light and the dramatic sky as well as the feeling of abandonment coming out of the lonely caravan. the 6x6 format of the kiev seems very appropriate, too. great work ;-)
regards,
kostas

I agree with kostas

Excellent use of angle and focal length here. The chosen angle foreshortens the trailer and gives it a curious, interesting look. The square crop creates a symetric space fopr the trailer to set in, and I think it was a good choice to position the trail in the center of the shot.

Great use of ambient light here. You have exposed the trailer just enough to make it the lightest object in the shot and so draw interest, while not really blowing out the highlights. The color of the sky and sand also contribute to a sense of the outdoor elements here, creating a vague sense of desolation. There is a rough mood here, a sense of living a spare life in this trailer, which I think is increased by the empty background.

A very evocative work, congrats!

Best regards,
Mark

I largely agree with the other critiques but I'm also left with a question.

Had you framed the shot differently such that the trailer was positioned to one side of the frame and more of the rather bleak sky/sand shown on the other would there be even more of a feeling of abandonment/desolation?

Perhaps it wouldn't be easy to product this feeling with a square format....

Fantastic position on the page....good use of the dark background and the well lit caravan...what lighting did you use on this shot?

Cheers
