About Took this image in the village of Tongli. My friend's wife was riding in the pedicab, and gave a quick glance back at us. I snapped quickly ... and wish that I had been set for a different DOF. But all in all, I like the result. I think the blurred Mao is cool ... he still lives on in today's China, but I suspect his thoughts and ideals are blurred in modern China.

hi mark. i missed this one previously.

you're right in that mao isnt talked about much these days, and capitalism/free enterprise have really taken hold in china now. in fact, its not often one will see an image of mao in many places, at least i havent noticed it anywhere recently.

tong li is outside of suzhou, and near shanghai if i'm not mistaken? i've never been there myself and didnt know they still used pedicabs up there.

its a good image overall.
