About Taken high above the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. On the flight out I was informed that at this lake, the idea was hatched to designate this part of Alaska as a Wilderness Refuge.

An extensive write up and numerous other photos from my recent trip can be seen on my web site if you're curious.

Scott thanks for commenting on my image. I'm glad you liked it. Congratulations on getting married. So if you're in Hawaii do you honeymoon in Hawaii too? :)

Jim,

brilliant composition. The balance in the image is so nice!
what plays so perfectly, is the way the scale keeps changing with every section of the image. the glass like reflections of the water, and the sharp peaks of the mountains have just enough space to not dominate the image. What pulls my through the wonderful image, is the snake of the river all the way to the horizon.

Very well done!

cheers,
-joel
