About Here is a silhouette taken at the same hill at Centennial Park as my older silhouettes, but this time I had the chance to be the subject in the ones i took...

If ground seems a little blurry, I was trying to guess with my my manual focus as to what was in focus because there wasnt nearly enough light to tell through my viewfinder...DOes anyone know an esier way of focusing Night shots like this so guessing can be avoided???

hope you enjoy...

Well, I'm hoping to get a 30d over the summer. Working right toward that goal. But with my old Minolta, the auto-focus will get you in the correct place then you can hit the manual focus button and it releases the gears (leaving the focus in the same place). Focus on something that's about the correct distance away, and go from there. Have I misunderstood the problem?

By the way, this is excellent work. Did you tilt the camera or tilt the image later?

Hi Alex, using Small aperture 5 - 8 will get you everything in focus, You will need to give it couple of tries, Usually 8 gets everything focused so you don't have to guess,
I like your work here, very well composed and captured,
Cheers,

Thanks all for the comments and tips!! James, I have to say i love my 30D, its definitely a great buy, hopefully you will be as satisfied...ALso, i just tilted the camera on the tripod while my friend and me stood straight up on the hill, nothing too complicated...

Thanks, Alex. I'm hoping to get the camera before the weather gets crappy here again--mid-September. Normally I'm pretty patient, but not when it comes to finding a pen or getting new camera gear.

You have so many interesting photos here, but I found this one so unique and artistic That I decided to leave my comments about it.
