These are a pair of Sais . . . a martial arts weapon made famous by Raphael of the teenage mutant ninja turtles. This particulap pair are balanced, unsharpened training weapons that belong to me. Thanks Jessie!

A great sepia toned finish to this shot Doyle and another adventure begins in a new project, well done to you. Wonderful details and great clarity. It is a reminder to me of my excursion into the art of ju-jitsu and an eventual blue belt. Obviously in young days of fitness and possible a reason for all my aches and pains of today:):) My very best wishes to you as always my friend.....Ray

Phillip  Minnis    {K:13078} 7/28/2006
A nice portrait image, Doyle! Well suited to the Newman project!

Cheers

Phil

Thanks Ray . . . my excursion was in Kenpo . . . and not very far at all. I did learn some nunchaku and sai work . . . but the closest I ever came to a black belt was watching "Karate Kid" on TV!! LoL! And NOW I'm pretty sure I know enough to hurt myself.
Stay well my friend.

A great portrait again Doyle- you really seem to have a character summed up in a second. Like the tone and the clarity is amazing in those eyes. (Here, you or your family not on the wall I suppose?)

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:99839} 7/28/2006
Thanks Mary! As it happens there is one of my sons in the photo you see on the wall . . . He's reached the end of the ladder . . . the only belt for him to attain now is Black Belt or stay where he is now . . . forever...!
BWA HAHAHAHAA!
All four of the boys are in various photos through the years . . . and all made us proud. For some reason the daughter never went . . . Hmmmmm . . . maybe that's why all the boys did?

:)

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~
