Love it Rachel! Very dramatic, especially with the shadows. My only complaint is that it looks a little too soft, like it has been filtered too much. I would like to see a little more detail.

very great portrait like it very much

Ashley Hays   {K:2100} 7/29/2006
Amazing eyes! They look like they have every color in them! My only qualm is that you cut off his bottom lip. Great job!

Rachel Leah   {K:24704} 7/29/2006
Thanks so much! Yes, his eyes are absolutely gorgeous, I always tell him they look like the world (greens and blues) but I don't know if it's that clear in this picture. Anyway, yes the bottom lip being cut off bugged me a lot too, but it was actually a very candid quick shot (fixed up later in PS) and that's just the way it was cropped in the original, so I had to deal with it and movie on, haha! I am starting to get used to it though! Thanks again for your comment!!! :) :)

Ashley Hays   {K:2100} 7/29/2006
Ah, yes, I understand. Let's see some more pictures of his eyes!

great potrait

Henriette Andersen   {K:1059} 7/29/2006
I love the softness of this photo. More detail would for me ruin the very 'arty' effect it has. Love the clear, sad and beautiful eyes.

Chad Parish   {K:6155} 8/20/2006
Wonderful shot Rachel, and very focused, especially for such a candid shot. I would be interested to hear some of your PS techniques for achieving such detail, is it a matter of using the sharpnening filter or is there more?

beautyfull work: his sweet, gentle face goes so well with the "dreamy" effect.
Nice play between lightside and darkside.
Love also the cut.

Great crop and lighting and a terrific expression that you captured.

Albert Jacobs   {K:9447} 1/2/2007
Hello Rachel :),

I am not religious, but strongly belief in people...

This image is extremely strong because of the eye-contact. This little guy makes your heart melt, in a very pleasant way. He looks straight through you. I like the softening, it adds a lot to the total view. To me, the cutting of the underlip, does no harm to this perfect composition. So, yes it would bring something but on the other hand it does not harm the total composition and view, that is still very strong.

This is a great portrait and a wonderful composition ! Great work, my compliments !

Wish you and yours all the best,
Albert Jacobs :)
