i think this photograph is really effective- very cool! the holga was a great choice... the piece as a whole gives off a very unsettling feeling.

This is haunting, very cool. I've just signed up for a class at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design on Holga photography, mainly because the camera is included with the class (I can't find one on my own) and I'll get to use the darkroom there, and I can't wait! I just hope I can get results like yours. I always imagine the Holga as a magic camera that takes photos that are lurking in your subconcious. This photo tells a story of a relative from the past that a young one was told about but never knew. Many different stories could be imagined. I love photos that make me dream.

Syrie,

An outstanding example of the power of vision and photography. I know that it's almost impossible to know before your print what you will get from a toy camera, but what really makes this image come alive is the dress, body position, and style of the subject. It absolutley feels like this picture was taken at least a hundred years ago.

Shannon Richardson   {K:1004} 4/27/2003
You need to shoot some more images like this. Haunting.

Isn't "crappy Holga" redundant? This is a wonderfully haunting image: excellent work!

i'll have to get me one of these holgas - in my mind they take bizarre pictures - this is very cool
