wonderful close up of this interesting Architecture capture, you a did a great job here with Composition, DOF and the lighting is very well balanced.

Wishing all of the best my friend

Dave Stacey   {K:117507} 8/3/2006
Amazing difference in perspective with the different lenses, Ray! Still, on both you've captured great detail and textures in the stone. I prefer the crop/composition in your main post. I seem to be missing the second attachment!
Dave.

Many thanks Andree for this and all other comments. The 3rd shot (2nd attachment) didn't load first time....it's there now if you care to see it. Very best wishes.....Ray

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:99839} 8/3/2006
Wow Ray! I love history and the posted image is the king of the three, though I did enjoy all three. Shows what differences can be seen in lenses! Very interesting locale and, to be perfectly honest, I very much enjoyed the foggy shot . . . I just feel like the posted image was the best of the three.

It seems wrong to let these historical castles fall this way. I know it happens . . . just would prefer it did not. Just a little Duct Tape and elbow grease and it could be fixed up good as new! LoL!

Anyway - good shot of history and thanks for sharing it with us!

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Now what I'm to say to build you up again...
Nice image... a bit crumbled at the edges though... ;-DDD I absolutely loooooooooooooove the foggy one, but maybe that's because I'm not to 'bright' myself... LOL!!! Well captured Ray!!

Susie  Peek-Swint   {K:5035} 8/4/2006

Mary Slade   {K:40918} 8/4/2006
Like them all Ray! That foggy one is just so atmospheric- could be part of a film to me. The angle you got and the height of it. I also like the textures. Gives a great sense of it Ray.

Laura Spell   {K:24080} 8/4/2006
Very good light and colors in this photo of the ruins. Details are sharp on the stones.

Yoshiyuki Tanaka   {K:13580} 8/4/2006
Well, I'll be.....but reading your "abou" I realized it was not you, dear Ray!Beautiful texture in the stone work and well done crop! Like it! Also like the ruin in the fog!

I always admire the architectural heritage from the past.
This is also nice example for it, lovely architecture,
I admire antique castle and buildings. Thank you so much
for your great sharing my friend!

Have a nice day dear Ray!
Robert

Mireille Heirendt   {K:7258} 8/5/2006
Hi Ray,
This is the best of the three for the crop. The other two are not bad, but I think there is too much empty space around (only my opinion!).
Have a very nice weekend!
Best regards,
Mireille

Roger Williams   {K:83282} 8/7/2006
Of course any tower in Ireland reminds me of James Joyce and "Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man." His tower was in better repair, by the look of it. [grin]

vanessa shakesheff   {K:64008} 8/7/2006

Hi Ray! Although you´ve left the building, I have to comment on this building :) Excellent title, and an interesting scene with the repair done at the top. Take care! *hugs*

m ,   {K:15872} 8/18/2006
An ideal definition for a historical image! The title makes me feel the occurrence and the picture provides me to understand the subject! I like the perspective which shows the details greatly and clearly.
Best regards: Maxime

Wonderful shot, know that Doyle liked it before seeing he had commented. You might not see our bull riding, but we don't have castles. Thanks for sharing.

Mary Brown   {K:68553} 9/29/2006
Your titles make me smile. This is a great shot of the textures of the rock. This must have been so majestic at one time.
