Cary, thanks for the comments, they are appreciated. In Golden Gate Park, San Francisco the Dahlia Society plants and takes care of this Dahlia Garden, there are hundreds of them in all shapes, sizes and colors.

I enjoy your studies in light and shadow – both in color and in black & white. For this particular photo, I enjoy the color range in the Dahlia and the stark contrast of the black background. I also like how the petals splay out toward the viewer.

Hi Cleveland,
Very nice pattern here, and the bright pink looks great with the dark background. The unique angle of the shot makes this image very unique. Well done!
Thank you for the comment on my white lillies. You are right about the hot spot. In this case, it was part of what I wanted to emphasize in the photo. I liked the contrast between the hightlights and shadows in the image.
