Hi Klaus try this.
I tried for so long to get rid of the hotspot when shooting color,it even shows up in b&w but faintly.Try a 'LEVEL' adjustment of the 'RED' channel,I got rid of the hotspot but haven`t evaluate the technique fully,if only for b&w the color image will give you more tonal range.
