A risky shot. Pink flamingos in b&W! I like the composition, out of the square. Good tones and enough reflection to really interest you.

Thank you all for your comments....

Mr Arrey,
I always loved the sharpness of the Provia 100F, almost the same like Velvia, yet a bit faster, and not much saturated.

Darrin,
The Flamingos are not actually pink... they are more into white species... just the lower part of the wings, and the legs are pink and orange... The color version, have a nice blue, but not much contrast... This is why I treid to see how the composition only might work or not.

Nino Gemmellaro   {K:1642} 4/12/2003

Interesting to see a subject in monotone that you are so used to seeing in colour, works quite well imho, you concentrate more on composition and detail rather than just the colour.

You have robbed off their colors, what would the flemingos think?
BTW...the pedestal part of these birds are very funny. In our Kolkata zoo there are a few, till 12 morn they lift the left leg...and right after lunch.
