Hi Thilo,

I'm rather surprised to see one of your photos with a tilted horizon.... Intersting experiment. Where did you find a 1000x ND filter?

Very nice setting and comp, though.

Cheers,

Hugo

With this long exposure it more looks like a day shot... it´s cool but i had prefered it in b/w

Interesting long exposure picture, I specially like color of water.

Hi Thilo,
This seems to be a good idea to use that filter in order to create some nice effects to the clouds and water because of the necessary 20 second exposure.

Wow! That was a long sentance. I assume that was at least part of the intention of your experiment?

I like the effect on the water and clouds, (looking quite painterly) but the shore and distance detail appear a little off somehow. Perhaps there was some additional unwanted camera movement over the 20 seconds?
Andre

Hi Hugo,

you have the eyes of a hawk... the horizon is a good point.

As for the filter: at first, it seems to be impossible to get one, but actually, it was very easy after I found a specialized filter dealer in Germany. This is a Heliopan ND 3.0.

Hi Andre,

yes, I tried to get the sea flat and milky and the sky dynamic and moving.

as for the detail: it's more the f-setting here. the lens is not very good with a closed aperture...

I did a double take when I saw this image and your name...so different for you, and I got a laugh from Hugo's comment and yours back...Funny because I didn't notice the horizon right off the bat either...he does have a good eye. I like the mood, the colors, the light, and the feel of this Thilo, nice to see you experimenting so you can teach the rest of us. Not sure of the effect you were looking for but for me it is like a painting, and I do like it!!

Interesting image... did you sharpen the image? not sure if you intended the horizon to be tilted but for some reason I actually like it that way....the clouds add to the image, nice long exposure

der effekt mit den wolken is ja schon bemerkenswert. die plastizität ist fast greifbar auf diese weise und der weite himmel kommt mit den wolken bei diesem bildaufbau auch besonders gut....bemerkenswertes und gelungenes experiment imho...
