Class Project: Tribute TO Rene Magritte
I had so much fun with this project. Mostly because I really love the work of Magritte and I am a big fan of surrealism in general.
I did do a lot of post-processing on this image to define the bricks but the basic shot was done "in-camera" with a bit of trickery. ~ Warm regards, Rocky
LOL! Thank you, James!!! I think it's perhaps ironic (or at least apropos) that Beck chose this image since Margitte's name for this is "The Listening Room." By the way, it's not the only image of an apple in a room that he painted. One was with bricks and another was with painted plastered walls and a framed window. I think the bricks add a nice dimensionality to the composition that draw you into it. Thanks again. ~ Warm regards, Rocky
LOL! Yes, I remember that Beck used the Magritte painting for his first album (so many years ago). I actually built this tiny room for the apple out of foam-board and drew the bricks with a soft pencil. The scene through the window is actually looking out the window in my living room. Thanks for the compliment and comment. ~ Warm regards, Rocky
