The use of selective colouring here is spot on... really adds here... & emphasises the destruction. So many lives, in such little time :(

A very sad scene, given the about... captured & portrayed so well... excellent.. I truly hope you win many awards for this.. it deserves many views & the about deserves great thought.

Keep well Humayun x

Thanks a lot Quix for you nice comments and wishes. It was really tragic. The destruction was complete. All those deaths occoured in an area of just 10 squre km. I was there on an emergency relief mission.. spent almost 2 months and I can not descibe in words, not only the devastation but the stories of hope and courage. I'll be posting more pictures from that experience

Well done with the exception of over sharpening the image! but still a great work photography and saddened by the loss of human life.

We could all say we could imagine how bad things have been over there... though like your photo... most is hazed over & dull.. only some of what we think will shine through as reality... I guess that is why your photo struck me so.

You, and those with you, deserve the highest recognition for the help you have given... I just hope the terrible things you've seen & experienced have been dulled by the good you've done.

Keep well & bright
Quix x

Very emotive image. The touches of color amid the monochrome rubble pulls at my heart strings. Good light and details.

A heartbreaking image! It is a perfect illustration the way you composed the pictures in B&W vision with the few colours pictures! It is symbolic, sympathetic and praiseworthy for showing responsibility to describe the real life. my favorite indeed! My best complement.
Best regards: Maxime

Wie kommt der Serienschalter aus der DDR in den Iran?;)
Dein Foto und die Bearbeitung bewegt mich sehr.
Gruss Dietmar

Your choice of selective saturation works very well in this composition. The abandonned shoe speaks volume about the tragedy. We cannot ever take for granted the hapiness in our lives. Very good work. Andree
