it's rare to see a photo like this, where every element is harmoniously and harmonally balanced, with the precisely right determination of parts. and there are a LOT of parts, making it a balance all the more difficult to seize: fluidity and weight, contrast range and detail, a wide assortment of color masses that are sustained by textural uniformity; all that, and expert technical control, too. sigh, i hate you shirley cross. :-).
