Beautiful shot of the sandhill cranes Linda, and the way you have darkened the edges. Alison

Hata parece verlos movewrse lentamente, en ese paso tranquilo, recorriendo las pasturas.

I am glad that someone mentions that these birds are cranes. I have never seen one in real life LOL. They are walking together as uf they are a pair, which could very well be true. Larger birds appear to stick together for their life or at least foster their chicks together. Very nice mood and the b/w is very good. Big hugs :)

OMG!!! You'll never believe this! That same type of bird has been tormenting us for the past 2 months! Is that a blue heron? Or Sandhill crane? He's been stalking the fish in our pond and eaten a few. He is so out of place here in the Southwest. Our suspicions are that he was brought here by some country club with a lake to add to the atmosphere but flew away to find better food.

I really love this image and your composition is absolutely perfect! You have the Rule of Thirds perfectly and the birds are walking "into" the image instead of "out of" it. Very nice. I like that you vignetted the image as well. It does help to draw you in. The B&W conversion is excellent too! Nice contrasts. A beautiful nature shot and masterfully done. You are truly an artist. {{HUGS}} ~R

Linda Bique   {K:74033} 9/5/2006
Oh shucks, thank you, I'm honored. Those are Sandhill Cranes, they're very skiddish really, they kept taking off when I got near, I did manage to get some other shots that I was happy with though.

I'm sorry they're harrassing your fish in the pond. Some of them are probably suffering from post traumatic stress disorder by now...I know I'm terrible. I'm probably gonna go straight to hell...LOL. I love birds of all kinds and would gladly take them off or away from your pond if only I could. It's a bit hot there for them I would think....hmmmmm....

I am glad you like my picture, I was looking forward to seeing what you thought of it. Since you're the REAL artist here...thanks Mister...big big hugs...:)

Kes     {K:18434} 9/5/2006
Hi Linda, excellent compostion with room for the birds to "move" and the b&w looks fantastic! I like this a lot!

Ameed El-Ghoul   {K:42188} 9/7/2006
I like the DOF here the most, it is what makes the Birds stand out, their feather is tricky they way it reflect and ovserve the light, but you maanged to get the best out of this shot, very well done,
Regards :)
