i really understand what you mean: for many people, here in italy, the mountain is relax and the sea full activity and sometime stress. In opposite i feel so good when with the foot on the sand, the gull singin' with the water's music...
Naturally the bests moments are easy in the morning or lately in the evening by the summer, but the winter... oh, the winter is a private pleasure in every momento of the day!!!
In this shot i can feel the calm, the peace, the tranquillity!!!
Perfect for the project...

Poetry in pictures would also be a quite fitting project for this photo. Excellent feel and atmosphere, and a lovely composition.
My only nit would be that I think the intersection of the horizon with the top of the boulder tends to attract most attention in this shot (to me, it does...;)) I think either a lower or a higher point of view would've made the feel of distance a bit stronger. My intuitive reaction would be to go in a bit lower, and make the top of the rock stand out above the horizon. Great shot, though, very well captured.
