About Still playing with the 10.5mm Fisheye . . . but distortion correction software capturenx from Nikon has corrected the distortion here and allowed yet another tool for me to use with this lens. Wooo Hooo! So . . . here's one with distortion correction!

Ict . . . Thank you very much!

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:99839} 9/8/2006
Thanks Shirley . . . I was VERY tempted to enhance the sky . . . pulling in the blues and tones and adjusting the light levels to make it more dramatic . . . then . . . I thought why bother? This is as it was. Apparently, in Arizona you can call in an order to get the perfect dramatic clouds (Hi Sam!) . . . but not here . . . so no clouds . . . no deep blue . . . but I still like it!
:)

Doyle I <~~~~~

Perfect straight out of the camera image, dear Doyle. Excellent exposure and colours. I'm really surprised how nicely the fisheye distortion is corrected.

Kind regards,
Virgis

Thanks James! Easy to show you . . . fisheye distortion (which I left un-checked for effect) is classicly illustrated in this shot of mine:

Wow!
How much I would love to work with a fish eye lens, it's a cool tool to make some of my dreams come true ;)
Dear Doyle I'm really surprised, what a great shot you have here, with a sun in the background, the only thing I can imagine is using a flash light to achieve this exposure!
very well done to you,
My bests,
Mohammad

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:99839} 9/8/2006
Thanks Mohammad! I appreciate the comment AND the idea about the flashlight . . . hmmmmmm......

Like the blast of a nuclear bomb, Doyle. Very well composed, in a somewhat dramatic way and with indeed beautiful reflections in the waves.

Regards, Markus (and thanks for your comprehensive review of my last upload)

Francisco N-G   {K:26892} 9/8/2006
Superb image Doyle! The fisheye + d/c certainly gave a surreal atmosphere to your picture.

Excellent!

bella muy bella, un lindo y bello atardecer, excelente

 LGreget   {K:18536} 9/9/2006
Gorgeous sunset!

The horizon line is PERFECT! The natural light of the blue sky is fantastic and I'm so glad you didn't alter it in any way. The setting sun provides the perfect amount of light to illuminate the sky near the horizon.

The waves and the light are beautiful.

The distortion correction is perfect and provides a very wide angle view without the fisheye effect.

What I love best about this image is the foreground with the ocean on the sand and the reflection of light from the sun on the sand.

Stunning! 7+!

Lisa

Hanggan Situmorang   {K:37782} 9/9/2006
Splendid moment and wonderful light, Doyle. Great work!

Most of the times I am amazing for your poetry definition! As here the definition makes more attention of your subject.
Apropos you illustration! I adore the reflection of light on the water! The point of view is amazing and the waves look like dancing very joyfully here perhaps together with soul and creative mind!
Best regard and complement: Maxime

Wow Lisa . . . Thank you very much for this kind comment . . . What you said you love best is what made this shot for me . . . I agree completely . . . it adds something to a shot that would have been good anyway . . . and it was fear of losing the balance between the foreground reflective color and the natural sky which made me decide not to adjust levels for the sky alone . . . it would have unbalanced the relationship. :)

Doyle I <~~~~~

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:99839} 9/11/2006
I appreciate your comment Udit . . . I have a series of shots here for this time . . . before and after sunset. The minute or two before this the distortion of the sun was much more problematic. THIS image has the round disc of the sun before it is lost. Also in my profile will be found several shots before and after this particular moment in time. I think, were you to check, you might find a more appropriate moment of this sunset in the last dozen or so pictures I've uploaded. Some prefer later, some earlier . . . so there's no right or wrong. For this reason I have added many varieties of this one sunset. Thanks for commenting though!
:)

Doyle I <~~~~~

Melanie Reynolds   {K:9583} 9/18/2006
This is absolutely gorgeous. That bit of orange in the wave reflecting off of the water is really stunning.

My only complaint is that the horizon is just a little too central. I might have brought the frame down a tad to include a little more of the sand and brought the horizon up just a touch.

Linda Mac Donald   {K:1567} 9/19/2006
Another beautiful photo doyle. The reflection of the sun on the sea foam is great. Again great color Doyle.

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:99839} 9/19/2006
Thanks Melanie . . . I appreciate the feedback . . . particularly from a skilled photog like yourself. To my eye, though, dropping the shot a tad will make the horizon line even MORE central than it currently is . . . though I agree it's close. Still, I appreciate the feedback!! :)

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:99839} 9/19/2006
Thanks Linda . . . as always . . . for your feedback. It's certainly appreciated!!
