| About |
Khan Baig and ex army veteran and a climbing/trekking guide for the last 30 years, laughs as he describes climbing up the buldar peak(5602m) without a safety roap. The new soft snow and crevices are his concern, but he'll go anyway as the guide to a climber, who wants to do small peaks and then move on to those 8000m+.This picture was taken on the western stub of the himalayas of nanga parbat (8126) and the Buldar peak in the background is a subsidiary peak of the 9th highest mountain in the world. The place it was taken is called fairy meadows, which is a plain area on the top of the mountain, which leads to the base camps of these mountains. One has to go by a jeep for one hour on a rough track, then walk for 2.5 kms to reach Fairy meadows, then reaching the base campe depends on which peak you want to scale. Buldar peak, is a few hours walk, however nanga parbat base camp takes a day.
