About Taken on the 29th Of August 2006 on my D70 Nikon F6.3 400th sec. in a howling Nor\Wester I do not know if the rainbow was caused by the dust being blown up off the river bed or maybe spume being blown off the water.
Rees River is at the top of Lake Wakatipu. Enjoy

Out in the wild weather again Micky! Well worth the effort, glad you had the wide angle lens to capture the full width of the rainbow.

Oh my Lord, thi sis amazing! I always wished I could see a full blown rainbow like this, but where I live so far I have only seen little pieces of rainbows (which doesn't mean I freak out any less when I see one... I think they are the most amazing things!) You did an awesome job capturing this!! Besides the rainbow, the landscape is just gorgeous too! I'm going to be in New Zealand in three and a half months and I'm just wishing it's as gorgeous as I have seen from the pictures on here! Thanks for bringing this beauty to us all on usefilm! :)

Perfect shot in everyway. I especially love the panorama look here also

Thanks Dan,these were amazing conditions as the rainbow was caused through a gale force wind blowing spume off the river. The wind was such it bent hinges on the door of my friends car when I tried to open it.Good picture though and the insurance paid for the damage to the car!!!!!!!
Cheers Micky
