About Pour the batter into a funnel (same as ya use for gas or oil or such) and drivel it into a vat of oil... deep fry, turn... poke... and remove. Top with selected such-and-such... and serve warm with powdered sugar sprinkled everywhere... if ya never ever ever had one come to Illinois in August and I will take ya out to the fair for a bite.

At the Sox game on Sunday...spied the vendor for funnel cakes just a few steps away...made a beeline, but was turned away..."sorry ma'am were closing up"...in the 7th inning? with two cakes just sitting there waiting to be eaten?! I quietly walked away...with the voice in my head screaming, but I really wanted one of those cakes!

A Cub vendor would have taken your money.... we may be Republicans and money centric... but you would have had a wonderful funnel cake...

We chose "cherry" topping. The first place we went to was out of cherry. MM turned to me and said, "They are out of cherry." I shot back... "Get the heck out of line. If they come to the fair and run out of cherries... they don't deserve our business." The second place we went to had cherries and I took these shots.
