About This is called 'the Econo-Globe' and would be a much better image if I had climed the fence for better viewing. It is in Salem at Waterfront Park, on the Willamette River and has some very interesting information about it.

Michele,

Wonderful capture indeed. I think the fence adds to this one regarding the contrast and composition...

Well done my friend,

Marty

You made a great job my friend capturing this wonderful image and preseting it for us.

I like a lot the composition of this image all along with its perfect lighting and details.

Wishing you all of the best my friend

Thank You Rashed. It is an interesting and LARGE object . I have lots of information I would like to add to this in the 'about' section, but didn't have it with me at the time. I figure I will add it this morning at some point. ...> it's size, etc)))

Best Wishes,
Michele~

So well captured and unique! And what a sky behind the world- brilliant!

Michele Carlsen   {K:133640} 9/19/2006
Thank you nessa... I feel badly because there is so much interesting information about this giant globe, even how many tiles it took to make it ... Would you beleive my batteries ran out so I couldn't take a picture of the information...can't find it on the net, and didn't have a pen ? I will get it tho at some point... I promise !

Michele Carlsen   {K:133640} 9/19/2006
Thank You Mary ! It's a beautiful globe and so large. I lucked out with the beautful sky didn't I !

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:99839} 9/19/2006
Good capture and climbing the fence . . . aside from being a poor idea . . . would likely get you a less dynamic image. This is actually kinda' cool in a symbolic way . . . the Earth - Fenced in! We're stuck here and should probably learn how to get along. By the way . . . beautiful sky!
The right and left side crops would likely be better pulled out a tad . . . so the whole fence was included. Also, when trying to level a horizon without a visible horizon line . . . there are tricks here and there to use. On the spherical elipses you'd use the inside of the left and right curves with a straight line connecting them to represent a horizon line. Here it seems off by about (ONLY) 1 degree. I've attached an example in case it's confusing -- what I'm saying. :) Nicely done.

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

With a 1 degree tilt correction.

Michele Carlsen   {K:133640} 9/19/2006
Thank You Doyle...I knew that was a mistake but figured 'what can I do ' ?? Now I can learn better...
The fence crops were because of poles, and people which I thought were distracting , but ya never know... maybe they would've added ...?
Thank you for the great , helpful critique !
Michele~

WOW!!! Surely impressive...but the most strong thing here is that fence...makes the Earth looks like into a cage! Into the preson, however Earth is not gilty looooolllll.... we are!!! :-D
Really amazing image... ahhhhh... I could not see my country (almost) to see what kind of image putted there!
Cheers!
