About Although we, photographers, point our cameras at the world, the images brought to light usually reflect our perceptions, hence bribes of our inner selves. This might be a long journey of discovery of what already exists within us.

Well said; well done!

Wouter van Noort   {K:4357} 9/21/2006
Food for thought, both in the image and the about. There is a lot to see, but it isn't evident how it is related: a can of beer and wine glasses, the expression on the face and the newspaper exposing remarkable facts.

And technically: good composition and contrast. Interesting image.

welcome to UF!...i am not officially back here yet,but saw your forum thread which lead me here...like your "about" statement and have found it to be true during my 3yrs. posting my images here...also like your Groucho Marx quote and it made me laugh out loud as does this image!

The perspective is good as is the DOF...nicely composed and the vertical format works well...humorous "day in the life of" shot...nice B/W conversion with good highlights and B/W points
i like your photo and look forward to seeing more
regards, gayle in WA state

An interesting, and unusually apparently casual self-portrait. Great lighting.

Hello Gal,

I suppose one picture will have to do. While the photograph is there, I'm here rather to comment on your responses to other people's photography. I'm thrilled to see someone approach each critique as just that. There's many who will simply inflate a photograph, but few that give advice and criticism in such a constructive way.

I'm at a point where I'd like to think more seriously about this hobby of mine, and would love to get some suggestions as to where I should direct my attentions. Always looking to be inspired, I intend on reading the rest of your critiques to see just where I can advance myself as well. Thank you for everything.
