Yes, the name refers to the many Large Salmon that are caught here migrating back up the river . You could swim here Annemette
The Salmon get very large , 30-50+ lbs. and jump quite a bit so you'd best not be startled easily tho !

It sounds awesome, Michele. Maybe I should bring my dog as I know that there are newfoundlanddogs that are able to catch salmon like a bear. That would be a great photomoment!:-)
